Hauntingly beautiful and spellbindingly realized; the skeleton makeup in full-fleshed mode really brings out an alternate take on beauty while suggesting deeper thought. The model's slick hairstyle with red streaks add a piquant touch of Alternative vibe to this shot, and the blend with the stark background seamlessly blurs the line b/w fleshed persona & the otherworld. Not to mention one of the most amazing skeleton makeup efforts I've come across, with crisp photowork & lighting.
It must have been very effortive to bring all this together (not to mention maintaining the makeup), but very worth it. One of your best efforts & series, keep'em coming friend!
Can I have a dumb question? I want to do this as a carneval costume, so I bought an eyeliner... but I don't understand, how do you keep your eyliner sharp. Normal sharpener doesn't work, because it has too moist consistency. Probably with a knife, but I fear that a lot of it would be wasted...I've found a tip to put the eyeliner to a fridge before sharpening, but then it would take forever. Any advice, please? PS: I really admire you skeleton series, truly great job!
I actually use a cream pot eyeliner like HIP. I just use a brush and like cream or gel eyeliner, I only use the stick eyeliner to do the outline, the rest is painted like a canvas with a paintbrush. ^_^
I just wanted to let you know, that I did try to do a skeleton makeup of my own at last. Here is a link: [link] Nowhere near the artistic qualities your skeletons have , but people liked it all the same Thanks for sharing your ideas and tips, I really appreciate it. Take care
